May my roots grow deep, may my limbs grow strong.

March 1st

The scent of spring is in the air - or at least in my mind as I look at the calendar! My gardening juices are starting to flow as thoughts turn to tomatoes and salsa and the "how to's" of making my own hanging tomato planters. Must not forget hanging strawberry planters as well.

Gardening. Last summer was my very first garden. Parts of it successful, others not. I am anticipating what this summer will hold and praying I'll have the energy, strength and know-how to bring to reality the ideas in my mind. Wrists and forearms - it's time to toughen up! Body - forget you're tired, work like you're not and soon you won't be! Until it's time to fall into bed, exhausted from the wonderful work of preparing a garden... Ahhhhhhh - imagine how yummy that salsa's going to be and how satisfying it is to can large batches! I get excited just thinking of a whole bunch of jars of canned stuff on my pantry shelf!

I wonder what thoughts my sister(s) are having these days. Lau, in particular. Are her gardening juices flowing already as well? K is no doubt too busy climbing mountains or something to be thinking of her patio garden quite yet.

Let's see: Hanging tomato plants, potted tomato plants. Cilantro and other herbs. As much as possible - I'd love to use them for my special sSalsa with Cilantro at the end of summer... Sweet peppers and jalepeno's. Onions this year. Carrots definitely - it was a blessing to be able to head out to my garden when I needed carrots last summer. Now what can I do about my soil? I think this year I'll haul in a load of manure. "Welcome to the neighborhood, Buhr family!" Heh, heh heh. I love my dad. Inside joke - but then, my blog is for the "inside" of me anyway. For those who stumble across it - read and enjoy, or not. My blog is for me. To encourage thinking, dreaming, renewed typing skills and creativity. An outlet.

Happy day to all,
Love me.
