All Things Through Christ...
"I can do everything through Him who give me strength." Philippians 4:13
I have repeated this verse both to myself and to countless others throughout the years but it seems as though this year I have been experiencing living in the strength of Christ in such a greater way. From Homeschooling, to teaching Teen Sunday School, to working a few hours in the church each week and to building my own business through Arbonne International, I have needed the Lord's strength each day. I've always been an "only two things on my plate" kind of person and felt that if I even attempted to add one more thing, the plate would tip and the contents slip leaving an ugly mess to clean up.
But this year things have changed. As my family's circumstances and needs have changed and developed, it seems as though the size of my plate and the strength of the hands holding it up has grown. I've been able to learn that yes, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Now does this mean that everything will indeed remain on this "plate" of mine? No, of all the tasks I've been managing there have been changes and exchanges by the currents of our life.
And it's okay.
It's okay because we (my husband and I) have been bathing each of our decisions in prayer.
When we've been lacking, we have sought provision from our Great Provider.
When we've been lost, we have sought direction from our Ultimate Map Maker.
When we've been uncertain, we have asked for wisdom from our Wisest Professor.
When we've been weak, we have sought strength from the Giver of All Strength.
And when I've need love - I have gone to my quiet place and sought love from the One True God who has so freely shared His unending love with us since the beginning of time.
And I am thankful.
I am thankful that I've not been asked to live this life alone.
I am thankful that I am not expected to accomplish the work placed in my hands in my own strength and ability.
I am thankful for both my Heavenly Father who is ever with me and for my husband who is always rooting for me.
I am thankful that I can do all thing through Christ who gives me strength as in and of myself I am unable to accomplish anything of eternal value.
And most of all, I am thankful that the death Christ died on the cross some 2000 years ago was for me and for all of man-kind. If it were not for the death Christ died that we may have eternal life, I would be lost. I would be so lost. There would be no eternal strength to draw from, no perfect wisdom to seek and no true love to receive.
Thank You, Lord, for all you have done and for all that You do.
