Dreams Do Come True

Have you ever wondered "Why? Just why do I feel so passionately about something, or why do I have such emotions that run so deep on any particular topic or event in your life?"

God knows. He has created us. He has dreamed our dreams and placed these dreams and desires deep within our heart. And He's given us a roadmap (His Word) to discover how to get to some of these dreams. If we just trust Him.

All last year, during my daughter's first year of Pre-K, I was in turmoil. What seemed like angst so often gripped my heart. I would cry out. To God, to my husband, to myself. I vehemently (at times) struggled (is that grammatacally correct or simply emotionally correct?) at not being able to be inside my daughter's classroom as an observer. I longed, yearned, to see and understand exactly what her day looked like inside her classroom. Her classroom at the end of the long hallway to which parents are not permitted to walk their children to. Confession time: I sometimes did anyway. Me, the rule-loving, can't break a rule, rules are in place for a purpose, can't go against the rules (ha!). Finally, I chalked it to up being an overly-involved parent who has difficulty letting go and did just that: I let go.

A few months ago (last February, I believe) I took an Elim Bible Course on "Knowing God's Will". Oh how the Lord ties all things in together and He does it so well! Near the end of the course, I remember speaking with my teacher and telling her of my deep heart's longing and sense of calling for "Greatness." As to what form that "Greatness" took it did not matter to me, I told her. How the world views "Greatness" makes no difference to me, because the world cannot place a "size" on any "Greatness" the Lord calls us to. I expressed my inner fear to her that I would never achieve this longed-for "Greatness".

And now it is fall and I am amazed. As I lead one of our church's ladies small groups through "Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul" (John & Stasi Eldredge) I have discovered that the yearnings and longings deep within my heart have been placed there by the One True Almighty God Himself.

The adventure my husband and I are on in life has "suddenly" taken on a new path. We are on the verge of homeschooling our two children. Our goal is to begin next August.

Hand in hand the two are tied. Taking on being a small group facilitator of an intense subject - the heart of a woman - and the decision to homeschool our children.

Now I understand why I was in such turmoil all of last year. Why I struggled so with not being able to be involved in my daughter's schooling. The Lord was in the midst of working in my heart, of weaving into it's very fabric the desire (and ability) to homeschool.

You see, dreams and emotion are placed deep within by the very Creator Himself. He places them there for a purpose, for a plan. At times a plan yet to be unveiled.

And when the time is right, the dreams which have been taking root deep inside the soil of our heart finally peek through the outer barriers of ourselves into the daylight of our lives.

Be of good courage - God is with you, God has created you, God's Spirit is in you, for those of you who have permitted Him the very entrance of your heart.

"You shall seek Me, and you shall find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. I shall be found by you", declares the Lord." Jeremiah 29:13,14a
